Former Burger King night manager faces charges

Record Staff Writer

NEWTON - Newton police arrested a fourth suspect Monday in the case of an armed robbery at Burger King on U.S. 321 and N.C. 10 - the former night manager of the restaurant.

Carolyn Chanel Coulter, of 725 South Caldwell Ave., Newton, was arrested Monday afternoon after a Grand Jury returned an indictment charging her with robbery with a dangerous weapon, first- degree kidnapping and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

At the time of the incident, Coulter was the night manager.

A Newton Police Department records employee said the charges against Coulter for first-degree kidnapping were because employees of the restaurant were confined to a cooler against their will.

Coulter is being held under $15,000 bond in the Catawba County Jail.

An initial arrest was made Aug. 24, with charges being levied against Delonda Nicole Parsons of Conover and Jermaine Wilkes of Catawba. Another suspect, Mitchell Jerome Mack of Catawba was arrested Aug. 31 in Salisbury.
